To play solitaire, you need a standard 52-card deck. You start by shuffling the cards and dealing seven columns of cards face down, from left to right. The first column has one card, the second has two cards, and so on until the seventh column has seven cards. Then, you turn over the top card of each column, so that it is face up. The remaining cards form a stock pile that you can draw from when you need more cards.

You can move cards from one column to another, as long as they are in descending order and alternating colors. For example, you can move a black six onto a red seven, or a red queen onto a black king. You can also move a group of cards together, as long as they follow this rule. When you move a card or a group of cards from one column to another, you reveal the face-down card underneath it, which you can then use.

You can also move cards to the four foundation piles at the top right corner of the screen. These piles are where you need to place all the cards in order from ace to king, according to their suit. You can only move an ace to an empty foundation pile, and then build up from there. For example, you can move an ace of spades to an empty foundation pile, then a two of spades on top of it, then a three of spades, and so on. You win the game when you have moved all the cards to the foundation piles.

Where to download solitaire for PC?

There are many websites and apps that offer solitaire for PC, but one of the best ones is [Solitaire Time]. This website has a simple and elegant design, and it lets you play solitaire online or offline, with or without hints, and with different levels of difficulty. You can also choose from different themes and backgrounds, and track your statistics and achievements. Solitaire Time is free to play, and you don't need to register or download anything to enjoy it.

What are some of the variations of solitaire that you can try?

If you want to spice up your solitaire game, you can try some of the variations that Solitaire Time offers. Some of them are:

  • Freecell: In this version, you have four free cells at the top left corner of the screen, where you can temporarily store cards that you don't need. This gives you more flexibility and options to move cards around.

  • Pyramid: In this version, you have a pyramid of cards on the screen, with the bottom row face up. You need to remove all the cards from the pyramid by matching pairs of cards that add up to 13. For example, you can match a six and a seven, or a queen and an ace. You can also use cards from the stock pile or the waste pile to make matches.

  • Golf: In this version, you have seven columns of five cards each on the screen, with the top card face up. You also have a single card face up at the bottom of the screen, which is your base card. You need to remove all the cards from the columns by placing cards that are one rank higher or lower than your base card on top of it. For example, if your base card is a nine, you can place an eight or a ten on it. You can also use cards from the stock pile to change your base card.

Spider

What is spider and how to play it?

Spider is another popular and challenging card game that you can play by yourself. It is similar to solitaire, but with some differences. The goal is to arrange all the cards in eight piles, one for each suit, from king to ace.

To play spider, you need two standard 52-card decks. You start by shuffling the cards and dealing 10 columns of cards face down, from left to right. The first four columns have six cards each, and the remaining six columns have five cards each. Then, you turn over the top card of each column, so that it is face up. The remaining cards form a stock pile that you can draw from when you need more cards.

You can move cards from one column to another, as long as they are in descending order and same suit. For example, you can move a nine of clubs onto a ten of clubs, or a jack of hearts onto a queen of hearts. You can also move a group of cards together, as long as they follow this rule. When you move a card or a group of cards from one column to another, you reveal the face-down card underneath it, which you can then use.

You can also move cards to the eight foundation piles at the top right corner of the screen. These piles are where you need to place all the cards in order from king to ace, according to their suit. You can only move a complete sequence of 13 cards of the same suit to an empty foundation pile. For example, you can move a king-to-ace sequence of spades to an empty foundation pile. You win the game when you have moved all the cards to the foundation piles.
